Vampire Hunter Abe

Barnes & Noble

A novel by Seth Grahame-Smith

First things first, this is not a factual book, this is written by the same author as Pride, Prejudice and Zombies.  This book follows the exploits of Abraham Lincoln from young child all the way to his run as our 16th president.  All the way from the settling of america vampires have been the bane of our existence, and ever since there have been vampire hunters.  The book covers his adventures around the country meeting such characters as Edgar Allen Poe and even a vampire John Wilkes-Booth!

Along the way facts and fiction are mixed together with such items as the death of his first love and fiance Ann Rutledge due to vampires and even the death of his 11 year old son Willy Lincoln.  Lincoln becomes a abolitionist due to the fact that he was not only a protestant and felt that slavery is a sin but also the fact that slavery is kept going by the vampires so they can have a cheap source of human blood if they need it and doesn’t bring up questions if slaves are killed.

Here’s to hoping that the upcoming movie (released on June 22, 2012) will be as interesting as the book is.
