Andy Serkis, better known for his roles in which he uses his face and motions to be captured and digitally rendered on screen such as Smiegel in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies and as Caeser in ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ has revealed just who he will be playing in the long awaited ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The characters name is Supreme Leader Snoke and is played entirely by mocap (motion capture).
So far the story behind him and even what the character looks like are still hidden in the shadows, for now. Popular rumors have stated that he might even be a Sith Lord that has influence over young Kylo Ren (played by Adam Driver). More info as it becomes available.
‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ opens in theaters December 18, 2015.
