namor coming to mcu feature

The first mutant, no not Apocalypse, the first one in the comics having made his inaugural appearance in Motion Picture Funnies Weekly (April 1939) may just be on his way to either the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) or Netflix according to Marvel Chief Creative Office Joe Quesada. He recently indicated that the rights to the character which were previously considered “complicated” which were believed to belong to Fox or Universal do in fact belong back to Marvel.

During Kevin Smith’s podcast ‘Fat Man on Batman’ this came to light:

“…The same people that own Iron Man, own the Sub-Mariner?”

Quesada replied, “I can’t speak for studios…As far as I know, yeah we do. It’s not at Fox, it’s not at Sony…Yeah.”

As for the possibility of seeing Namor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sometime soon, Quesada said, “I cannot confirm or deny, sir.”

So far Actor Brian Tee (The Wolverine, TMNT: Out of the Shadows, Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift) has expressed interest in playing the First Mutant of the seas.

This is what: Just saying, Marvel Studios just picked up the rights to Namor, who is the Sub-Mariner, and I would love to play the Sub-Mariner. I grew up as a comic geek and the Sub-Mariner is one of my childhood’s fondest superheroes. I feel like I can play him! If there is one role, right now, that I would love to play, it would be Namor.
